I found an interesting article on the CBS News website with this title (sans the latter). Of course this has never been a question to me. In my considered opinion all of the Democratic leadership supports gay marriage. Remember the story of ‘King and King?’ This book being used to teach second grader about homosexuals ramming each other in the ass ( If you don’t like my language, go to hell). Well, I don’t know of a single Democrat presidential candidate who came out against this book. Obama, Clinton, and Edwards all supported the use of this book for teaching second graders. These people are simply lying through their teeth when they say they don’t support gay marriage.
Now we come to the issue of McCain. I heard McCain say he would support the court decision no matter what it was on the issue of gay marriage. I think this statement by McCain just goes to show how shallow the man is. This is not a man of core conservative principles. And his voting record in recent years how how liberal he has become. These courts should not be supported in their radical agenda of trying to remake the country. But McCain is showing more and more every day that he will do anything to win a vote. Ronald Reagan must be turning over in his grave. They should be opposed in every way by a government that is ‘Of the People, by the People, and for the People.’

Well this is an old blog post, but I found it randomly through Google so here’s a response in defense of Ron Paul’s position.
According to this article from Fox News - http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,85446,00.html
“…the presence of American forces here has long been an irritant for Saudi rulers facing strong anti-American sentiment among a growing and increasingly restive population. Fifteen of the 19 alleged Sept. 11 hijackers were Saudis, and Saudi-born Osama bin Laden cites the U.S. military presence in his homeland as a reason for his hatred of America.”
Even if our troops were there at the invitation of the Saudi government, it well-known that their government does not represent the will of the people. Apparently Bin Laden perceived our presence there as an occupation.
Also, Ron Paul votes against every appropriations bill. However, because his district is paying loads of taxes, just like every other district, it is Ron Paul’s duty to represent his constituents and try to get some of that money back in the form of earmarks. If Ron Paul did not submit the earmarks, that money, which has already been appropriated, would be taken by an earmark for another district or just spent without oversight by the Executive branch.
